Of CounselHe also actively lobbies for legislative action to improve long-term care for the elderly in North Carolina. Thomas is a former board member of the non-profit Friends of Residents in Long Term Care and always works to find ways to prevent elder neglect and abuse.
In 2007, Thomas received the Order of Service from the North Carolina Academy of Trial Lawyers which is now known as North Carolina Advocates for Justice. The award is given to members for generous contributions of service in advancing NCAJ's mission of protecting people's rights. In 2009, Thomas was designated a North Carolina Super Lawyer by Law & Politics Media which uses a rigorous system of nominations, peer evaluations and internal research in making a Super Lawyer designation.
