Henry "Hank" Teich has been in practice in Asheville and Western North Carolina for more than 40 years. He is the senior partner at Grimes Teich Anderson LLP, where he practices Personal Injury and Workers· Compensation Law. Hank has been a North Carolina Board Certified Specialist in Workers' Compensation Law since 2000.
Hank's interest is making sure that his clients get the best medical treatment available under the circumstances and protecting them from oppressive insurance company tactics. He frequently represents workers whose injuries prevent them from returning to their previous jobs and who are in danger of not being able to work at all in the future.
He is a member of the Executive Committee of the Workers Compensation Section and is a benefactor of the North Carolina Advocates. He was a member of the NCAJ Board of Governors from 2006-2021 and a five-time recipient of the organization's Order of Service, given to members for generous contribution of service in advancing the NCAJ's mission of protecting people's rights. He is also a recipient of the Ebbie Award, given by the President of the NCAJ to members in recognition of service and inspired commitment to the organization.
Hank received the North Carolina Bar Association Centennial Award. The award honors an individual member of each Judicial District for outstanding service that benefits the local community. Such service includes elected and/or appointed service to local government, civic involvement on boards of community agencies, participation in public service projects, and volunteer involvement with schools, churches, or other nonprofit organizations.
Hank has been accepted for Membership in the Million Dollar Advocates Forum. Only attorneys who have had a case or trial which resulted in a verdict or settlement in the amount of one million dollars or more may become members.*
Hank was selected for inclusion in the list of North Carolina Super Lawyers® in 2010, 2012-2017, and 2019-2024.
He was included in the 2016-2024 editions of Best Lawyers in America for Workers Compensation Law-Claimants.
Hank was an Assistant County Attorney for Buncombe County in 1980-81, and in 1987 he was appointed Buncombe County Public Guardian. He retired from that position in 2007 after 20 years of service to incompetent adults and mentally disabled Veterans in Buncombe County and across North Carolina.
Hank is a former board member of Caring For Children and former advisory board member of the Asheville Lyric Opera. He is also a board member of the Mimosa Fishing Club and Marina at Lake James. Hank is married and has two daughters.
