Interstitial Cystitis Patients Took Elmiron To Relieve Their Bladder Symptoms. Now, They Suffer Vision Loss. It’s Time For Accountability and Justice.

What is Interstitial Cystitis?

Interstitial cystitis is a chronic condition that causes bladder pressure, bladder pain, and sometimes pelvic pain. The pain ranges from mild discomfort to severe. This condition is part of a greater spectrum of diseases known as painful bladder syndrome.

What is Elmiron Used For?

Elmiron is an oral medication prescribed to treat pain and discomfort from interstitial cystitis, a bladder disorder known as painful bladder syndrome. The drug works by forming a layer on the bladder wall, protecting it from harmful and irritating substances in the urine.

Does Elmiron Cause Eye Damage?

2021 study on the affects of Elmiron concluded that long-term usage could cause maculopathy, resulting in vision loss. In this international survey of 912 individuals with interstitial cystitis, those exposed to Elmiron's active ingredient (pentosan polysulfate sodium or PPS) were more likely to report a maculopathy diagnosis than those not.

Awesome firm! Chris Connolly took time to listen and review our situation. He was very honest and upfront about the process and potential outcomes. My daughter’s case has some complexities and Chris explained every detail and possibility. Bottom line, he fought for us and won!!! I would rate them 10 stars if possible.

Needing an attorney was never something I wanted to need, but I did and thanks to Anna H. and Katie G. it was not so overwhelming. Having to deal with a legal issue and having a trusted attorney is key. I had no idea what to expect during the duration of the time I needed legal representation but Anna and Katie not only keep me well informed but also explained things to me in a way that made sense. If you happen to find yourself in need of legal representation I highly recommend them.
