VETERANS LAW ATTORNEYS

Veterans Law Lawyers

You Served Our Country. Now We're Here to Serve You.

Grimes Teich Anderson LLP works with regional and national co-counsel to represent veterans’ interests.

At Grimes Teich Anderson, we proudly assist Veterans and their families who have bravely served our country. Our commitment to service members stems from our deep and personal experience of military service, service-connected disabilities, and the effect these disabilities have on Veterans and their families. Our firm is dedicated to helping Veterans and active-duty service members receive the benefits they are rightfully entitled to.

Our attorneys offer various highly effective services tailored to our clients' needs, based on their individual case circumstances. Our attorneys leverage their legal expertise, advanced advocacy skills, and extensive knowledge of the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and Department of Defense (DoD) on Veterans' behalf. Let our knowledgeable, experienced attorneys advocate for you.

Veterans Disability Compensation

Disability benefits are essential to restoring the lives of men and women who have honorably served our country in the US armed services but were injured in the line of duty. Yet, for many reasons, each year, thousands of Veterans have their claims for disability benefits wrongly denied or evaluated incorrectly. We understand that getting benefits can be a complicated and frustrating process that often involves multiple appeals. Grimes Teich Anderson is here for you, and our attorneys will work through the roadblocks that stand between you and the benefits you rightfully deserve. Our firm has handled claims for various types of Veterans benefits, both at the agency level and in federal court, including:

  • Disability benefits
  • Benefits for dependents
  • Survivor benefits
  • Educational benefits
  • Healthcare
  • Employment benefits
  • Life insurance

Military Discharge Upgrades

A Veteran's character of discharge can have a profound effect upon his or her entire life after service. Upgrading a discharge may lead to greater eligibility for Veterans benefits, chances of obtaining better employment and housing, removal of a 'bad paper discharge' stigma, and simple vindication.

USERRA and FMLA Protections for Service Members

Recognizing the need to protect families and military service personnel's rights, Congress has enacted two acts: The Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and The Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA). These acts allow servicemembers to take extended leave to attend to important family matters, health issues, or military service. If your employer prevents you from taking this time off work or does not reemploy you after returning from military service, you have a right to take them to court. With over four decades of experience advocating for employees, our FMLA and USERRA attorneys offer tough employment legal counsel. Our attorneys will help you assert your right to extended leave.

Assistance with Veteran-Owned Businesses

Whether you're opening a sole proprietorship, partnership, LLC, S corporation, C corporation, or DBA business, you may want to consult with a lawyer before beginning the process. A lawyer will provide sound advice on any contracts and agreements that keep your business on solid footing and assist you with employee-related matters.

Why Hire an Attorney at Grimes Teich Anderson?

Although many Veterans do successfully navigate the VA and other federal systems on their own, there are many times when retaining an attorney could result in a more favorable result.* Each year thousands of Veterans have their claims evaluated incompletely or incorrectly, leading to under-valued or denied claims. At Grimes Teich Anderson, our understanding of the statutes, rules, and regulations surrounding both the VA and DoD help our attorneys build a strong case on our clients’ behalf.  The fact that we have personal experience as being service-connected disabled Veterans, Veterans’ dependents, and  family of active duty service members means that this work is personal.

Our Veterans Affairs attorneys can help you receive a proper evaluation by the VA and other federal agencies and, if necessary, before the courts, including the US Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims (CAVC) and the US Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.
